About me I was born in Chile in 1967 where my family had a farm in the foothills of the Andes. We subsequently lived in South Africa but I received most of my secondary education in England where I took a B.A. in Spanish at the University of Manchester in 1991 and a doctorate (D.Phil.) in Modern History at Oxford in 1996. I have been settled in Los Angeles, California since 1997 and am married with two children.
